Not just an ordinary love story - Everyone always wants to know couples' stories right? 'Oh, how did you guys get together?', 'How did you meet?' The answers are usually as dull as they are prosaic, and so is ours. But that doesn't matter, because it's what happened next that amounts to anything. So, yes, Avene and Edd met the old-fashioned way, Tinder. Disappointed with dating, too lazy to go out and meet people in real life, it was a last roll of the dice before buying cats situation. Edd had given up, Avene was bored and then there it was, a little tick on Edd's account and a disinterested swipe from someone who was so thoroughly uninvested in the process that she hadn't even paid for an account. They chatted online, she got bored and called him, sometimes sober. They met, he saw her picking her knickers out of her butt on the way to the first date, she complimented him on the size of his head, they drank margaritas, made poor decisions and ended up ensuring that the first of many restaurants they could never return to became their thing.  

 

They spoke daily after that first date and haven't stopped since. Lots of adventures, lots of ups, some downs. a juice retreat with a bathroom two foot from where they slept meant any mystery was lost within months and that's okay. Because in spite of that, they fell in love, melded reluctant children into a rat king of a family unit, bought a muddy swimming pool with a small house attached and now are looking to the sun kissed horizon with hope in their hearts, and an unwavering belief that third time really is the charm, because it doesn't matter how old you are, how bruised you've been, how many times life kicks you, you only need to find that one person that really sees you, who sees your true worth, maybe even sees something you didn't even know was there and raises you up to feel like you can do anything. Because that's the bit that matters, how they met is dull, what they did next might just be incredible.
